This is a collection of various visual design works I have done, some are for use in game and others are concept pieces.
Assets:
This is an assignment we were given to create a pile of rubbish, getting it as realistic as possible within a certain texture and polygon limit.
I created a treasure chest asset for a task, again with a limit to my polygon count and texture size. This one was to have textures that look hand painted.
I also created an avatar of myself for part of a unit. I have not finished the diffuse map, however have the model and normal map finished.
Concept art:
For this we were told to make a surreal painting, so I took advantage of this and perhaps got carried away, but it was interesting to think about how everything in the painting could fit together.
I painted a design for a tree which I wanted to give character. I took the approach of giving it character though the tree house and what it has been turned into.
A Pokemon-inspired ghost that I did for Halloween, this is a 3D paint over.
A dragon sculpt I created with Maya and Mudbox, using stencils to help create the scales.
A spaceship concept that I created and textured as a 3D asset.
I used a paint over technique to create a rock creature, inspired partly by dark crystal.
I made a concept for a robot, based on a Dog and a Kabuto Beetle. I initially did a 2D painting for it, however later created it in 3D and did a paint over.
I followed a tutorial to create bust painting of a character, this as mostly to think about the effects used.
A paint over for a science fiction cannon I built.
To study proportions I painted a Dwarf, Elf and a Human. It was interesting to draw and to see how their clothing and Armour changed due to the proportions.
Life drawing of a skeleton, I used curved lines to suggest the flow of the bones, rather than traditional lighting. This was part of my study of anatomy.
